Professional Summary
Brian Baumgartner is a professional with experience in the engineering and experimental science fields. While attending the University of California, San Diego from 2004 - 2009, he not only excelled in classroom studies, but also participated in university research, employment, and leadership training opportunities. This included work in the areas of astrophysics and oceanography, as well as leadership roles as a resident advisor, senior programming intern, outdoor leadership guide, college ambassador, and campus tour guide.
After graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics (and a minor in Environmental Systems), he spent a year working with the Ocean Turbulence Lab at the Naval Postgraduate School (D.o.D.), before relocating to Sydney, Australia in December 2010 for a three month student fellowship with the Australian Astronomical Observatory.
Through additional courses in experimental physics and engineering, Mr. Baumgartner has obtained a well-rounded skill set suitable for any engineering, technology, or science application. His professional interests are specifically in robotics and autonomous system design; areas where he hopes to study at the PhD level in the future.
